Abby is a 14-year veteran of Procter & Gamble, where as a Business Manager, Executive Coach and Global Business Consultant, she led improvements in productivity, streamlined business processes, and improved leadership effectiveness.  Abby was also a partner at Sandler Training, a franchise specializing in training sales professionals. Abby graduated from the University of Florida with a Master of Statistics and from SUNY at Albany with a BA in Mathematics.

Abby is on the board of First Bank (FBNC), ABCO Automation, the Guilford Merchants Association (GGMA), First Point, and the Greensboro Chapter of the Society of Financial Service Professionals (SFSP). She is also Chair of the Greensboro Chapter of the Women Presidents’ Organization and she is past Chair of the Board of Kindermusik International. In 2014, she started the Succession Planning Roundtable, a local forum for sharing best practices in Succession and Exit among experts in the field. 

Abby's newest book, Straight Talk About Planning Your Succession: A Primer for CEOs is available on Amazon.com in paperback, kindle and Audible. Abby is also the internationally recognized author of Networking Works! a book and training curriculum that offers a strategic process for building a professional network. She has also published, 128 Tips to Make you a More Effective Leader, available on Amazon.com in paperback or kindle.

In 2018 Abby was invited to serve on the faculty for Pinnacle Equity Solution’s Exit Planning Certification program, providing expertise in ‘Mental Readiness’. Her book, Straight Talk About Planning Your Succession is required reading. Abby was quoted in the September 2018 issue of Kiplinger’s Personal Finance Magazine in Editor-At-Large, Janet Bodnar’s column on Retirement.

Abby has been active in the community including expanded leadership roles with Leadership Greensboro, the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro, Crescent Rotary and Rotary District 7690. In 2009, she spearheaded an annual fundraiser that provided management and sales training, raising funds to immunize over 670,000 children against Polio.

Abby received her Certificate in Exit Planning from the Exit Planning Institute in 2016.  Abby was a certified speaker for Vistage International, an organization of CEOs. She has been featured in the Triad Business Journal and is a renowned Triad area speaker on leadership, succession and exit, and improving performance.

Abby has been happily married to Jim Donnelly for over 29 years. Their dog Lexi was adopted from the Animal Shelter. Abby loves working with CEOs and senior leaders of Triad-based organizations. She also enjoys networking, reading, working out… and dancing to Motown.
