We hired Abby Donnelly as a presenter for an annual management planning meeting. What was great about her presentation is that she shared a “bag of tricks” that managers could consider. Not every ‘time management technique’ will work for every role. By providing a wide variety of tools, each manager could take away a few ideas they could actually apply in their position. One thing that kept the meetings lively was that Abby invited discussion of the ideas so managers could share ideas they have found effective and the points could be discussed in the context of our unique business (and isn’t everyone’s business unique!?).
Abby’s presentation was very well regarded and it was a great balance of fun and learning that we were looking for. As an added bonus, everyone left with a gift of Abby’s book “128 Tips to Make You a More Effective Leader.” My copy stays on the credenza in my office.
